AV3 and Nexidia’s ‘get’ Wins 2010 NAB Best of Show Black Diamond AwardPartnership Transforms Editing Workflow and Video Search

BOSTON & ATLANTA, GA – April 26, 2010AV3 Software and Nexidia today announced they have been awarded DV magazine’s Best of Show Black Diamond award at NAB 2010 for ‘get’, a video search application for Apple Final Cut Pro (FCP) users powered by Nexidia’s phonetic search engine. AV3 develops unique workflow tools for the creative community. Nexidia, the market-leading audio and video search company, delivers patented technologies and applications that make entire media libraries instantly searchable and discoverable.

“We are delighted to receive this prestigious award,” said AV3 Managing Director Peter Ramsay. “The feedback from the show was fantastic, and clearly FCP users see us revolutionizing their workflows. We thank the judges for their recognition.”

AV3 ‘get’ leverages Nexidia’s patented phonetic indexing and search process so that all of the video in a media library can be quickly indexed to make it searchable. By combining spoken word search with advanced Final Cut Pro metadata filtering, ‘get’ streamlines the process of identifying and selecting relevant content. The editor then selects the desired clips and the media is exported to projects or directly into the FCP timeline – saving hours of manual searching, tagging and logging.

“The pick of the show for me is, without a doubt, ‘get’: phonetic search for Final Cut Pro,” said Philip Hodgetts, media consultant, author and digital post-production expert. “‘get’ is an amazingly powerful tool.”

The DV Black Diamond Awards recognize outstanding achievement in the advancement of the art and science of video technology. They are voted on by an impartial jury of industry professionals – who unanimously agree on the merits of ‘get’ for FCP and how it serves the magazine’s readership.

“Our teams searched the NAB show floor for products that were truly deserving of recognition,” says NewBay Media Broadcast & Video Group Vice President & Group Publisher Eric Trabb. “Recognition with an award at NAB from the Broadcast & Video Group is a strong vote of confidence and admiration from this leading industry publication.”

The winners of the 2010 Black Diamond Awards will be featured in the July 2010 issue of DV magazine, as well as online at www.dv.com. Click here to see a how-to video of ‘get’.
