H.I.G. Capital Announces Sale of APS Healthcare
MIAMI – June 5, 2007 – H.I.G. Capital, a leading global private equity firm based in Miami, announced today that it has completed the sale of APS Healthcare, Inc (“APS”) to GTCR Golder Rauner, LLC (“GTCR”), a private equity firm based in Chicago, Illinois. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
APS, based in Silver Spring, Maryland, is a leading specialty healthcare services company that provides a full range of outsourced healthcare solutions to government entities, health plans and employers. The Company delivers an extensive portfolio of targeted Care Management and Behavioral Health programs that enable customers to reduce healthcare costs and improve the quality of care. APS has approximately 1,000 public sector and commercial (health plan and employer) customers in the United States and serves over 20 million members, making it one of the largest specialty healthcare services companies in the country. The Company was founded in 1992 and was one of the first companies to enter the care management sector. H.I.G. recapitalized APS in 2003 in partnership with the Company’s founder.
