To date, his leadership, experience and reputation in the federal market have led Lancope’s federal business to over 170 percent growth.

“With the continued rise in insider threats, hacktivism, cyber warfare and other advanced attacks, innovative, next-generation security solutions like Lancope’s StealthWatch® System have quickly become a necessity versus just an option for federal agencies,” said Mike Potts, president and CEO of Lancope. “During his time with Lancope and in previous roles, Rob has been instrumental in shoring up security measures for dozens of organizations in the federal space, and we look forward to his expanded contributions as our new vice president for this market.”

Prior to joining Lancope, Potter held the role of vice president of federal sales at RSA for seven years, as well as sales roles at software companies Jacada and Attachmate (formerly WRQ). He also spent seven years at IBM as a developer, and proudly serves as a board member of Operation Renewed Hope Foundation, a non-profit organization focused on helping homeless veterans.

“Government IT security professionals are shifting from conventional, signature-based blocking and packet-capture recording tactics to more active, behavioral-based monitoring,” said Potter. “Lancope’s active monitoring, detection, scalability and complex algorithms provide unique capabilities that have positioned the StealthWatch System as a crucial component of the typical federal government security stack. I look forward to continuing to expand our footprint in the federal space and helping more agencies transform their security strategies to keep up with today’s rapidly evolving threats.”
